Tips and tricks to get started

While we try to send primer-ready prints, here are some points to remember before you apply your first coat:

  • **3D printed resin is brittle and can break easily!**
  • Please have a careful look at each piece to make sure you remove all of the supports (especially check places like the eyes and mouth).
  • If your piece is sticky or has a drip of water inside, place it on a sunny windowsill for a couple of days until it is completely dry and cured.
  • To easily remove supports and their nubs, submerge the piece in hot water to soften it before using wire cutters, a dentist tool, or a sharp pointy blade.
  • Use polishing  sandpaper to sand away imperfections.
  • Sand or dremel resin parts until they fit in your action figure’s joints, and use some blue tack to make them stay in position. Better the hole be a bit big, providing more mobility, than have tight joints that can get stuck or break.
  • Teeth, horns, antlers, spikes, claws, etc. can be sharp or break, so please be careful.
  • Remember that customized pieces are not toys, they are meant for display only.
  • 3D printing resin is toxic, so keep it away from aquariums, pets and small children.
