Custom 3D Printing Services in Canada

Resin printing for miniatures, collectibles and custom figures, plus FDM printing for terrain, dioramas and larger projects.

Dusk Till Dawn Studio is a small 3D printing studio in Brockville, Ontario, providing custom 3D printing services in Canada. We’ve been working with resin printing for more than five years, and most days you’ll find at least a few printers running in our workshop.

Have something you want printed? Send it our way.

Maybe you found a miniature you really like but don’t own a resin printer. Maybe you need a few pieces of terrain, a custom part for a figure, or you simply have an STL sitting on your computer that you’ve been wanting to print.

Send us the file or a link and tell us what you need. We’ll take a look and let you know what we can do.

TELL US WHAT YOU NEED

Have an STL? We Can Print It.

If you already have the file, that’s usually the easiest place to start.

Send us your STL, OBJ or 3MF file, or a link to where you purchased the model. Let us know how big you want it and how many copies you need.

Not sure if it should be printed in resin or filament? Don’t worry about it. We’ll look at the model and figure out which one makes more sense.

If we see something in the file that might cause trouble during printing, we’ll let you know before we start.

Resin 3D Printing Services in Canada for Miniatures & Collectibles

Resin printing is what we know best.

We’ve been printing with resin for more than five years, and it’s still what we use almost every day at Dusk Till Dawn Studio.

Most of our work over the years has been custom parts for action figures and collectibles, so we’re used to working with small pieces where details matter — faces, armor, weapons, textures and all those little things you don’t want disappearing in the print.

The same equipment and experience work very well for miniatures.

We can print things like:

  • Tabletop and RPG miniatures
  • Characters, monsters and creatures
  • Wargaming miniatures
  • Display figures
  • Custom action figure parts
  • Heads, weapons, armor and accessories
  • Small diorama pieces
  • Prototypes
  • Small batches of the same model

We also don’t use the same resin for everything. Some pieces need more flexibility, some need strength, and others are all about getting as much detail as possible.

If you’re not sure what your model needs, that’s something we can figure out when we see it.

ASK US ABOUT A RESIN PRINT

Miniatures for D&D, Tabletop RPGs & Wargaming

Need a character for your next D&D game? Found a monster you’d like to put on the table? Maybe you need several miniatures for a wargaming project.

If you have the files, we can print them.

You don’t have to order an army either. If all you need is one character, that’s fine.

Our 3D printing services are also available for individual tabletop models and small groups of miniatures, so you don’t need a large project to contact us.

We can help with:

  • Player characters
  • NPCs
  • Monsters and creatures
  • Wargaming miniatures
  • Boss and encounter models
  • Display miniatures
  • Objective markers
  • Bases and scenic pieces
  • Small detailed terrain

If you’ve already found the model you want, send us the link or the file and tell us what size you need.

FDM 3D Printing for Terrain, Dioramas & Larger Projects

Resin isn’t always the best way to print something.

A large building or piece of terrain, for example, can get expensive very quickly if we try to make the whole thing in resin. That’s where our filament printers come in.

We can use FDM printing for things like:

  • Tabletop terrain
  • Buildings and ruins
  • Dungeon scenery
  • Diorama structures
  • Display bases and stands
  • Larger models and props
  • Functional parts
  • Prototypes

Sometimes the best answer is actually to use both.

We can print the larger structure in filament and use resin for smaller parts where the extra detail makes a difference.

Again, you don’t need to figure that out before contacting us. Show us what you’re trying to make and we’ll take a look.

ASK US ABOUT TERRAIN PRINTING

Custom Action Figure Parts & Collectibles

This is where Dusk Till Dawn Studio started.

For more than five years we’ve been printing parts for custom action figures and collectibles, with a particular focus on fantasy figures.

We’ve printed thousands of parts over the years, including:

  • Heads
  • Torsos and body parts
  • Armor and pauldrons
  • Weapons
  • Shields
  • Accessories
  • Conversion parts
  • Prototypes
  • Diorama and display pieces

So if you’re working on a custom figure and found a model that needs to be printed, this is very familiar territory for us.

One important thing to mention: we currently provide printing services, but we don’t offer painting services.

We Actually Use and Test Our Materials

If you’ve followed Dusk Till Dawn Studio for a while, you’ve probably seen us testing different resins, printers and settings.

That’s not just for reviews.

We print almost every day, and over the years we’ve learned that a resin that works beautifully for one model can be completely wrong for another.

A thin weapon might need some flexibility. A joint needs to handle stress. A display piece may need very fine detail and a clean surface. A large terrain piece probably shouldn’t be printed in resin at all.

We’ve worked with materials from several manufacturers, and we continue testing new ones when we get the opportunity.

When we’re choosing a material for your project, we’re looking at what the actual piece needs — not just what’s written on the bottle.

How Does It Work?

1. Send us the model

Send the STL, OBJ or 3MF file, or give us a link to the model you want printed.

2. Tell us what you need

How big should it be? How many do you need? Is there something particular you’re planning to do with it?

If you’re not sure about something, just tell us. You don’t need to know all the technical details.

3. We’ll take a look

We’ll check the model and decide whether resin or FDM makes more sense. If we see a problem or need more information, we’ll contact you.

4. We’ll give you a quote

Once we know what we’re dealing with, we’ll tell you what it will cost before we print anything.

5. We print it

Your project is printed here at Dusk Till Dawn Studio and inspected before we pack it.

6. We ship it to you

We’re located in Brockville, Ontario, and provide 3D printing services to customers across Canada. International shipping is also available to many destinations.

A Quick Note About STL Files and Licenses

If you designed the model yourself, no problem.

If you bought or downloaded it from a designer, please check the license that came with it.

Many designers allow you to have a file printed for your own personal use, but licenses can be different. If the designer doesn’t allow third-party printing, we can’t print it without their permission.

If you’re asking us to produce multiple copies that you intend to sell, you’ll need to have the appropriate commercial rights from the designer.

Not sure what your license allows? Send us the information you have and we’ll take a look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you print an STL I bought online?

Usually, yes. As long as the designer’s license allows third-party printing, send us the file or a link and we’ll take a look.

Do you print D&D and tabletop miniatures?

Yes. Detailed miniatures are a great use for resin printing. We can print individual characters, monsters, creatures and other tabletop models.

Can you print just one miniature?

Absolutely. You don’t need to order a large batch.

What about terrain?

Yes. We can print terrain as well. Depending on the model, we may recommend FDM, resin or a combination of both.

I don’t know anything about resin or FDM. Is that a problem?

Not at all. That’s our part of the job. Show us what you want printed and we’ll recommend what makes sense.

Can you resize my model?

Usually. Just tell us what size or scale you’re looking for.

What files can I send?

STL, OBJ and 3MF are the easiest formats for us to work with. If you have something else, ask us and we’ll see what we can do with it.

Can you make several copies?

Yes. We can do small production runs depending on the model and quantity.

Do you ship across Canada?

Yes. We’re based in Brockville, Ontario, and provide 3D printing services for customers across Canada.

Do you paint miniatures?

No. At the moment we provide the printing, but not painting services.

Got Something You Want Us to Print?

Send it over.

Tell us what you’re working on, show us the model and let us know what you need. If you’re not sure about some of the details yet, that’s okay too.

We’ll take a look and go from there.
