Brett worked as a draftsman for years until the end of 2020 when strokes and a kidney transplant on one hand, and economic recession in the oil and gas on the other hand, forced him to pivot. He now works in the Canadian retail cannabis industry.
Paris, despite being legally blind, has worked in design and entertainment most of his adult life, producing and hosting television shows, designing websites, as well as being a self-employed video designer specializing in motion graphics, and an art photographer. He had his first kidney transplant in 2001 and his second transplant in 2020.
Both fans of Master of the Universe and Mythic Legions action figures, Paris and Brett met online through a collector’s group on Facebook in 2021, while they were recovering from their respective transplants.
After a few conversations, it became apparent that they had a lot in common, aside from being in Canada:
- a refuge in action figure collecting helping them overcome their difficult health and especially during these difficult times
- COVID having cut down their incomes
- a need to supplement those incomes
- being creative and wanting to play around with 3D resin printers, preferably for something related to collecting
They also had to convince their spouses that they needed 3D resin printers. Thus, Dusk till Dawn Studio was born of economic necessity, a common love of creating new toys with other new toys, and a love of collecting and modifying action figures.
Happily, with Brett’s business savvy, Paris’ dedication to the website, and their shared love of the collector community, DTDS has taken off! There is no doubt that this venture was a good idea, even from their spouses’ point of view!
We hope that you enjoy our products and have fun using them to modify your action figures.
